Het is zomer in Boedapest als Ábel zich moet focussen op zijn eindexamens. Zijn liefde voor beste vriendin Janka houdt hem echter van zijn werk. Janka zelf is enkel bezig met haar onbeantwoorde liefde voor haar getrouwde geschiedenisleraar, die op zijn beurt verwikkeld is in een strijd met Ábels conservatieve vader. De spanningen van een gepolariseerde samenleving worden onverwachts duidelijk als Ábels eindexamen het middelpunt van een nationaal schandaal wordt.

C’est l’été à Budapest et Ábel doit se concentrer sur ses examens de fin d’année. Cependant, l’amour qu’il éprouve pour sa meilleure amie Janka l’empêche de travailler. Janka elle-même n’est préoccupée que par son amour non partagé pour son professeur d’histoire marié, qui à son tour est impliqué dans une bataille avec le père conservateur d’Ábel. It’s summer in Budapest, high school student Abel is struggling to focus on his final exams, whilst coming to the realization that he is hopelessly in love with his best friend, Janka. The studious Janka has her own unrequited love with married history teacher Jakab—who had a previous confrontation with Abel’s conservative father. The tensions of a polarized society come unexpectedly to the surface when Abel’s history graduation exam turns into a national scandal.
